Nine Flights...

My time in Oregon came to an end after a crazy last two weeks traveling and unpacking and traveling again to various places around the state. We flew to Las Vegas for Alex’s work (mostly play) Having Ellen as our host of one of the events, meeting Tay Diggs, 106 degree weather, losing at wheel of fortune and getting to meet up with an old friend made for a wonderful time in Vegas! We were home for one night then the next day headed to the Oregon Coast for the Fourth of July. We had beautiful weather in little Neskowin and had one of the best fourth of July’s I can remember, with a small town parade, lots of festive foods (so many desserts) and enjoying getting to know Ashley and Alex’s friends and lifestyle! It was sad to leave Ash&Al after a long month of some pretty unforgettable memories, (thinking about making this a yearly tradition)! But am eager for them to get down South in a couple of weeks!

So one night passed, and then I departed once again to Panama City, Panama…

Chris had told me that he was not going to be at the airport to pick me up but to look for Brinson instead, So i landed in Panama not really knowing what to think except for the thought of him being there and just trying to mess with my mind, but that did not happen! I was actually told that I would not see Chris until the next day… kind of shocked but it was great to catch up with B and hear about his experiences while working for Kalu Yala. The only thing he told me was that I would see Chris the next day before 12:00.. this concerned me considering i was only there for a short period of time. I was woken at 4:45 am and hopped in a Taxi cab with B thinking that i was about to be shoved in a bus to where ever Chris was. But I ended up at a small airport and boarded onto another plane to Bocas del Toro (where Chris had been staying for the past week).

After a 45 minute flight I was welcomed to Bocas by Chris! It was the best feeling seeing his face after a month and a half. We then hopped onto a banged up dirt bike and rode around the whole island, this was the perfect way to tour! He took me to the beautiful beaches all around the island and we just enjoyed catching up and being face to face! The rest of the weekend was filled with sailing, snorkeling, reggae music and lots of long walks. Bocas was a really neat little town with a lot of culture. We really enjoyed our time there and were bummed when we had to leave. But my trip was graciously extended because the flight was booked and i was flying standby, I wasn’t complaining!That day we toured around the city of Panama and I actually got to see a little part of the Panama Canal, the Miraflores locks. It was the perfect way to end our little weekend! I am so grateful that i was able to travel to panama to see his way of life and to hear about all of the exciting things that are happening within him. Our time together is always well spent but I don’t know now how anything will top that trip! Life is full of these little surprises!

So thanks Ash,Al and Chris for such great times!

I am so thankful for the places I have been this summer but after nine plane flights I can say I am ready to be home!
